NORWICH CITY FOOTBALL CLUB WIN WEMBLEY SHOW PIECE

On Monday 25th May 2015 almost 40,000 Norwich City supporters descended upon the National Stadium Wembley believing Norwich City Football Club would beat Middlesbrough in the Championship Play-Off Final and win promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking. We were all treated to a fantastic match and a pulsating 90 minutes of great football, especially the first 45 minutes where Norwich City played Middlesbrough off the hallowed famous Wembley pitch.

30 years ago Norwich City won the League Cup beating Sunderland 1-0. Hear we are again as Norwich City once again went up against a team in red from the North East of England.

Lord Baker said, “Let the champagne flow…already flowed in Club Wembley…and on ice back in Norwich”.

Norwich City cruised into a 2-0 lead within the first 18 minutes and quite simply knocked Middlesbrough and their 40,000 fans into complete shock which they never recovered from, and what was a noisy red end to Wembley Stadium was stunned into complete silence and disbelief. Elegant, decisive, crisp and very controlled football by Norwich City showed the World that Norwich City Football Club are back where they belong in the Premier League.

Gary Lineker tweeted, “Congratulations to Norwich City. You just couldn’t stay away, could you”.

So here’s looking forward to the 2015/16 season as Norwich City is once again a very proud Premier League City and putting the pride back into Norfolk and East Anglia.
